Nestled along the stunning Princetown coastline on the Great Ocean Road, Kangaroobie is just 20 minutes from Port Campbell and only five minutes from the iconic Twelve Apostles. For Tiarnah and her husband, the day began at the beautiful Night Sky Cabin in Princetown. Before heading to the ceremony, the couple shared an intimate first look on the front deck of the cabin, followed by private vows with only their closest family present. It was such a special way to slow everything down before the excitement of the day unfolded.
With the emotion still fresh, we captured family portraits beneath the shelter of the surrounding trees before making the short drive to Kangaroobie for the official ceremony.
Family and friends were welcomed with glasses of champagne and ice-cold beers, generously served by two close friends before the bridal party made their entrance. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately created a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere.
Another beautiful moment came as Tiarnah was walked down the aisle by both her mum and dad. It's something I'm seeing more and more at weddings, and it's a lovely reflection of couples choosing traditions that feel personal to them rather than simply following convention.
With celebrant Kim Lynn leading the ceremony, surrounded by sweeping countryside and everyone they love, Tiarnah and her husband officially became husband and wife in one of the most beautiful settings along the Great Ocean Road.
With all of the formal portraits completed earlier at Night Sky Cabin and along the Princetown Boardwalk, Tiarnah and her husband were able to head straight into celebrating with their guests. Instead of disappearing for an hour after the ceremony, they spent cocktail hour exactly how they wanted to — sharing hugs, clinking glasses and soaking up every moment with family and friends.
As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed delicious roaming canapés, a fully stocked bar and a live band that kept the atmosphere buzzing throughout the night with a series of energetic sets. Rather than having all of the speeches at once, they were thoughtfully spread across three separate moments during the reception, creating a relaxed flow and allowing everyone to enjoy the evening without long interruptions.
Although Mother Nature didn't gift us a glowing golden hour sunset, we embraced the soft blue hour instead. The cooler tones created a beautifully romantic mood, proving that some of the most memorable wedding portraits happen when you lean into whatever the day brings.
One of the things I love most about Kangaroobie is its versatility. The venue is essentially a blank canvas, allowing couples to bring in a professional stylist or create the entire space themselves with a DIY approach. Better yet, there's on-site accommodation, meaning there's no rush to end the celebrations. Guests can stay the night and continue the festivities the following morning over fresh coffee and bacon rolls — the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding weekend.
